Founded in Montreal in 1952 by Joseph Télio, the company quickly achieved, and has ever since sustained, a leadership position in the importing of textiles.

Now headed by the founder’s sons André and Raymond, Télio remains true to its mission statement: to offer designers, manufacturers and retailers a superior quality, original product tailored to their specific needs.

Today, Télio is at the forefront in textile distribution in North America.

Fashion Fabrics Division

In the early 1980s, with the aim of adapting to changing times, Télio’s Fashion Fabrics division broadened its scope and began importing from Asian countries, whose range of quality textiles responded to new market realities. Concurrently, the company chose to open up to international markets and participated in trade shows in Europe and the United States. In 1988, André officially assumed the presidency of the Fashion Fabrics division.

Interior Furnishings Division

In 1966, the Interior Furnishings division, which imports high end fabrics, leather, wall coverings, lighting and furniture, was founded by Raymond Télio. At the helm of this division since its creation, Raymond and his team are continuously in pursuit of the latest trends in Interior Design so as to offer the very best to Design professionals across Canada.

To this day, these two divisions operate independently under the same umbrella and are presided by Raymond and André.

Expansion

In 2004, intent on continuing to grow its business, the company expanded into its own 65,000-square foot head office in Montreal. Today, Télio operates five showrooms (two each in Montreal and Toronto and one in Vancouver), manages over 90 employees and has a sales team of over 30 representatives around the world.

Fashion fabrics has a research & development team of experts that provide fashion-forward trends and expertise. It’s presence can be felt in more than twenty countries across three continents.
