My creative process was driven by my conscious thoughts and feelings about luxury. As a result, my design represents the idea of seeing the light within and it challenges common presumptions of surplus, indulgence, extravagance and superfluity.

    Illuminating the unseen.
    Stimulating visibility.
The coexistence of seen and unseen, simple and complex.
The relationship between what is obvious and what requires reflection.
A nurtured and laborious composition of unexpected existence.
Beneath and within – highlighting odd pairs and hidden gems.
Reflective of ethereal light combined with a mechanical movement. A modern representation of luxe.

My design is a construct of many layers of translucent fabrics placed in relation to a single light source. The final silhouette is therefore comprised of both the material (the solid objects) and the immaterial (the light or shadow).

To express the idea of ILLUMINATION, REFLECTION AND MOVEMENT, I drew inspiration from Mihály Csíkszentmihályi’s Flow concept also known as Zone. To represent the hallmark of this mental state characterized by complete absorption in what one does, my mix of design elements is contained and channeled to denote a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, spontaneous joy and even sentiment of being lost in rapture.

A completely white design showing light in its purest form.
Fluid yet structure, simple yet elegant. A window to a hidden world giving glimpse of its lux and radiance.

Fashion is Architecture: it is a matter of proportions. My design describes a new kind of Lux(e) inspired by the Bilbao Museum. In this, movement of one continuous piece of fabric around the body and the reflection of it, challenge proportion.

The formlessness of light inspired the exploration of fluidity both conceptually in its application to gender and compositionally by its use of organza, balancing structural control, elegance and unpredictable treatments.

Inspired by the traditional Japanese technique origami. Using layers of organza to reveal the beautiful natural luster emanating from the fabric itself. Drapings at the side and back add movement and fluidity to the garment. Bring it out from the surface and make it alive.
